Go on, go ahead

[Bahasa Indonesia]

This afternoon, I was sitting quietly. A song titled “Teruskanlah” (go on) by an Indonesian singer Agnes Monica filled my audio senses. It took me to contemplate on my relationship, with myself.

A liberal translation of the lyric:

Have you ever spoken
But not heard
Not acknowledged
at all

Have you ever been not guilty
But be blamed
Not given
a single chance

Reff :
Who am I living with
I don’t know who you are
You’re my lover
Yet a stranger to me

You are only with yourself
You are wrapped within your own world
Go on, go ahead
Continue to be such

You don’t need me
I am but a statue to you
Blind love
Your need

You are only with yourself
You are wrapped within your own world
Go on, go ahead
Continue to be such

Questions arose: How well do I understand myself? How well do I listen to myself? How well do I feel understood, by myself? How well do I accept myself? How well do I feel accepted, by myself?

May I be kinder to myself. May I be my own best friend. May I be happy. Safe and secure. Healthy and prosperous. Conscious and wise. May I be able to keep increasing the happiness that already is.

May I be happy. May you be happy. May all beings be happy.
