The tree just stood there, awesome and strong as he was. He was quiet though. How curious. Why did he want me here if he had nothing to say? The previous night I had felt his vast-reaching presence and I was drawn to return.
So I did. Deep in the night. During these powerful moments before the dawn, with the moon finding her subtle way to shower her Light over me. But the tree was quiet. He was breathing slow and deep. His chest barely moving.
Go deeper within, he whispered. Be more silent. Be ever still. Relax. I concured, allowing him to guide me. My whole being reposed, planting its root solidly in Mother Earth. The night grew darker, and the tree even quieter. I did not know it was even possible.
From the kernel of such solemn quietude, the tree transformed himself before me, as if he was breathing out, or blooming. He remained firm, with his grandeur posture, growing ever bigger, overwhelming my sight. Then he radiated this bright, colorful, dancing lights. Like the beautiful aurora borealis, playfully changing his composition by the second. A symphony of nature.
There were no words uttered. The tree’s message was not of the spoken language. There was not even a reaching out or teaching as we knew it – no here let me show you the way, or tell you what to do.
Yet what he was about was so blatantly clear. His message cut through to the depth of my soul. He remained where he was, not bothered by any external impulse. He exuded love. He radiated beauty. Showing his true colors to those who stay with him, without intending to do anything but be himself.
By being around him, I too could feel the love and beauty in me. By being around him, I become that, too. Without so many words, he shared with me his secrets in being, “There is no need for neither deeds nor words. No planning, thinking, or agenda-setting is required.”
“You just relax into who you are. Allow your Truth to freely be, and your colors to naturally radiate. That’s how you invite people. That’s His/Her invitation through you. Repose. Stay still and be. You’ll see, you are that ever-so-beautiful dance of Nature herself,” he concluded, continuously dancing his delightful showcase of breathtaking rays of light.
Then came the dawn. The earth was bright and blue was the sky. A promise of yet another beautiful day. I approached the tree again later that day, hoping to hear more. But what needed to be said had been said. I knew in my heart that was it for that moment.
I was moved to another space to sit. To a room where students usually gather and learn. No one else was there at that time. I love this space, and it loves me. I moved around the room, to care for it. Then I sat, right in the middle, under the clear glass which was the culmination of the pyramid-like roof.
Another message came: “It is time to serve. It is the Heart’s desire. It is Its natural inclination. Give in, gladly. Give all your being to service.”
May He make it easy for me. God knows the Truth and He guides the Way.
